Musgrave Budgens Londis Training Team Development
...what the training team needed was time out to examine and re-assess their established ways of working and try out some new ideas. Through the ideas, demonstrations, inputs and strong challenges Unique Solutions gave us, the team are challenging themselves to think again about adult learning, says Paul Daynes.
The team of thirteen training staff at supermarket group Musgrave Budgens Londis includes both head office and technical training people with a wide range of levels of experience and ability in training course design. MBL's Head of Training Paul Daynes identified a need throughout the team to think more creatively about training design and the needs of their various audiences. He asked Unique Solutions to create and deliver a one-day programme that would be suitable for the whole team and provide inspiration and fresh ideas.
To meet MBL's needs, Unique Solutions designed and delivered Learning InterventionsĀ. Through discussions with MBL it became clear that what the training team needed was time out to examine and re-assess their established ways of working and try out some new ideas in a safe and controlled environment, explains Unique Solutions Event Manager Dave Savage. So we gave delegates a day of activities, team tasks and thought-provoking presentations specifically devised to refresh their understanding of core adult learning theories. The day encouraged them to incorporate innovation and dynamism into their approach to their training design and delivery.
As a direct result of their experiences at the Learning Interventions day, the MBL training team now regularly re-examine their training designs and test that they are using appropriate styles and methods to engage their delegates. Through the ideas, demonstrations, inputs and strong challenges Unique Solutions gave us, the team are challenging themselves to think again about adult learning, says Paul Daynes.
